Success As Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park Retain the Park’s Four Star VisitEngland Holiday Rating
Patrick Langmaid, owner of the award-winning park at Mother Ivey’s Bay, is delighted to retain the Park’s Four Star Holiday, Touring and Camping Park rating with VisitEngland.
‘All areas of the park very clean and tidy’
“It’s fantastic to be awarded a 5 Star rating in the Assessor’s report for our high standards of cleanliness across the whole park, which includes our park grounds, washing facilities, reception and shop,” says Patrick.
“Keeping our entire site clean and free from litter is top priority for all of the team at Mother Ivey’s Bay, as this helps our visitors enjoy a first-class holiday experience.”
‘Fantastic location on the coast with direct access to the beach’
The report highlights the park’s idyllic location, with guests noted as being able to enjoy ‘the peaceful location, views and access to coastal paths’.
The importance of having a clean and tidy site includes keeping the golden sandy beach pristine for the park’s guests to enjoy every day of their holiday. The team at Mother Ivey’s work hard to keep the beautiful bay free from litter, helped by regular beach cleans and litter picking equipment, which includes a new state-of-the-art trommel. Purchased by the park this year, the trommel helps remove micro-plastics from the sand.
Environmental recognition
Veronika Niewiadomska, one of the team at Mother Ivey’s Bay and a local artist, accompanied the Assessor on the walk around the park. Thrilled with the recognition given to the significant work done by the park to help protect the environment, Veronika says, “all park lighting has now been changed to LED. Major changes have also been made to reduce the use of plastic at the park – letting fleet linen is now delivered in paper and milk bottles and cans are now sold in the shop rather than plastic bottles.”
Guests at Mother Ivey’s Bay have also been snapping up the park’s own branded reusable cups which were introduced this year. What’s more, the cups are beautifully illustrated with Veronika’s very own eye-catching fish design. They are unique, make beautiful gifts and are available to purchase in the park’s reception.
Working alongside the National Trust
The park’s gardening and maintenance team will be celebrating their 5 Star rating for the park grounds too.
Extensive planting has been undertaken at the David Bellamy Gold Award park alongside talks with the National Trust. In addition the five acre Nature Reserve on site is carefully preserved to encourage and assist the local flora and fauna to flourish.
Child’s Play
Not only do the guests have the beautiful beach right on their doorstep to play, bathe and rest but the younger members of the family are treated to an excellent outdoor adventure play area too, which is rated as ‘an excellent facility for guests to enjoy with all equipment very neatly maintained.’
Final Highlight
The final highlight mentioned in the report is that all of the park’s fleet caravans purchased this year have been exclusively sourced from ABI who are a Living Wage accredited supplier.
As recipient of a Living Wage Champion Award 2019, Patrick has prioritised doing business with a like-minded firm, which holds the same beliefs about the value of paying a Real Living Wage to their staff too.
Mother Ivey’s Bay provides caravan holiday homes, both privately owned and for hire, plus touring pitches. More information about the park can be found at www.motheriveysbay.com
