On Thursday 2nd November, Patrick, Margaret and Veronika attended the 2017 Cornwall Tourism Awards at the Headland Hotel, Newquay.

It was a wonderful evening including inspiring words from the guest speaker, Cornish Olympian, Helen Glover and encouraging accounts of Cornwall’s continued successes from industry professionals.

We are happy to announce that Mother Ivey’s came home with a Bronze award for ‘Access and Inclusivity’, with which the team is delighted.  Also in a surprise announcement, Patrick was honoured on the night with a special award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tourism in Cornwall’, a category that you cannot enter but for which peers in the industry select the winner.  Safe to say, he was humbled and thrilled by the recognition. Some areas of interest included his work on the Real Living Wage, Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmentally Friendly Practices.

All in all, it was a great night of celebrating the successes of the sector and in particular the tourism business in Cornwall.
