‘Poldark’s Cornwall’ Guide Released
Our friends at Admaps (who produce the exceptional “Seven Bays” map familiar to many of our visitors) have recently launched a very useful mini-site guide to Poldark’s Cornwall.
The mini-site gives visitors to Cornwall information about the seven main filming locations including postcodes, grid references &longitude/latitude coordinates to help visitors locate the points of interest.
Included in the guide is Porthcothan Bay which provided the Cornish setting for the scenes of Nampara Cove, the beach close to Ross Poldark’s residence in the 2015 BBC adaptation of Winston Graham’s Poldark.Porthcothan Bay is 3½ miles from Mother Ivey’s Bay and the walk to the bay offers some magnificent coastal scenery.
Most recognisable to Poldark viewers will be the Botallack Mines, near St Just on the Penwith Peninsula. This coastline provided the very dramatic setting for the scenes involving Wheal Leisure Mine.
The guides are available to download and print so the site is a perfect place to begin planning your Poldark inspired Cornwall holiday.
A copy of the Poldark Guides are now displayed in the Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park reception and the team would be delighted to direct you as you go about exploring this picturesque coastline.
